My given name is Mark, but all the grandkids and church kids call me PopPop. My wife is Grammy. So... it is in the name, "G&P", and anytime we can GetAway is a great day.

I am a grand father times four. Three little girls and one little man. God and Family are my world. I got the travel bug, when I was a kid. I was the youngest of three. Actually, I was more like an only child. Both of my siblings were out of the house by the time I was a year old. My first major trip was to Walt Disney World the Easter week after it opened in 1971. We pulled a Banner travel trailer from Suffolk VA to WDWs Fort Wilderness Campground and we never looked back. My parents loved the travel scene and I guess it just rubbed off on me.

My wife and I are now empty nesters and love to GetAway as often as we can. We took our first cruise in 2023 on the Carnival flagship Mardi Gras and got hooked. We were with my senior pastor (and best friend), his wife, my daughter, son-in-law and the third grand-daughter. 7 days in the Western Caribbean. We have since been on two more cruises and two more planned.

I love it so much, I wanted to spread the love. So here I am, with a heart to serve and a passion to spread the joy of travel.
